When I was a little girl, I didn’t really understand what this song was about, but the lyric “long blond hair blowing in the wind” made me think of myself. When I was 11, and my hair started getting curly and difficult to manage, I imagined myself with long, straight hair, driving a car with the window down and my hair blowing in the wind (nevermind that the girl in the song was riding a motorcycle - I didn’t know what a Harley Davidson was). In my fantasy, I wasn’t a lonely person like the girl in the song.
This song stayed with me for years and years but it means something different to me now. This is the only song that has actually made me cry.
